Listen to me play: coming soon
I borrowed a ukulele from the Free Library of Philadelphia after reading about its music instrument lending program in the Philadelphia Inquirer. I chose the uke because it is portable, easy to learn, and fun to hear. At first, I used chord charts in how-to books from the library to pick out familiar melodies. Later, I began studying ukulele and voice with Alexa Korogodsky of the Side Chicks.
I play covers of popular songs from the 1960s to the present. Many are songs I heard on an oldies radio station growing up. I perform for students at Community College of Philadelphia before class and at the end of instructional videos.
The Free Library featured me and my uke in its 2019 Library Week campaign.
