writer and critic
I cover arts and culture in greater Philadelphia.
I also write about film.
I aim to highlight emerging artists, themes, and trends. I seek out work created by women and people who are trans, nonbinary, and queer. I see criticism as creative, and I bring to it reverence for art, passion for words, intellectual curiosity, personal experience with dance and theater, and graduate degrees in the humanities.
I have reviewed performances by Martha Graham Dance Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, BalletX, Philadelphia Ballet, PHILADANCO!, Rennie Harris Puremovement, Koresh Dance Company, the 7 Fingers, Dorrance Dance, the Wilma Theater, and many more.
My film writing draws from film theory and criticism, feminist and critical theory, pop culture studies, and memoir.
My work appears in Broad Street Review, MovieJawn, and thINKingDANCE.
